Namaste Academy's Karate Champions will be Honored by Prime Minister for their Remarkable Triumph

Kathmandu, Nepal - On the 19th of May, Hari Sharan KC, Chairman and Chief Instructor of the Nepal Wiado Ryu Karate Do Association and General Secretary of the Nepal Karate Federation, warmly welcomed and paid tribute to the victorious Nepali Karate team that participated in the 19th International Okhinwa Goje-Ryu Ipah City Karate Open Championship 2023 in Malaysia. Assisting Mr. KC during the ceremony were Jigme Sherpa, Principal of Namaste Academy, and Arun Kandel, Head of Schools at The British College.

During the event, Mr. KC expressed his gratitude and mentioned that he has been in communication with the Prime Minister's office to ensure that the winners receive homage from the Prime Minister himself, including the presentation of medals and certificates at the appropriate time.

The following day, on the 20th of May at Sidhartha Gautam Airport Bhairawha, the victorious students were received and warmly welcomed by Mr. Bisnu Paudel, former Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister. Mr. Paudel praised the winners from Namaste Academy for not only representing their school but also their country, along with the entire Rupandehi district.

Umesh Kandel, the School Manager, expressed immense pride in the achievement and acknowledged the increased responsibility that comes with it. He emphasized Namaste Academy's commitment to preparing the country's required qualified manpower, highlighting the school's dedication to producing well-rounded individuals.

The 19th International Okhinwa Goje-Ryu Ipah City Karate Open Championship 2023, organized by the Okhinwa Goje-Ryu Ipah Karate Do Federation Malaysia, took place from the 12th to the 14th of May. The event featured participants from Nepal, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. Among the competitors, Namaste Academy's talented students shone brightly, securing top positions and earning medals in various categories.

The list of winners from Namaste Academy included Prasidhi Sharma, Dev Kumar Shah, Pracesh Shahi, Aaron Serchan, and Ridesh Basyal, who all claimed Gold medals. Aakriti Kandel showcased her skill and earned a Silver medal, while Sanyam Kandel and Vaisanvi Verma performed exceptionally and were awarded Bronze medals.

The remarkable achievements of Namaste Academy's karate champions have garnered widespread recognition and appreciation. The students, accompanied by officials and members of the National Sports Council, were further welcomed and congratulated by Mahendra Raj Kandel, the Executive Director of The British College. He extended his best wishes to the players, encouraging them to continue their outstanding performance in future competitions.
